This is the backyard project I have taken on. As you can see, the backyard is currently covered in mulch. We want grass. It's not a huge yard, but it's a huge project! I already have blisters!
Hi Bets! If the mulch is not covering a layer of plastic, what you can do is spread some compost over it and seed that. The microbes in the compost will begin to break down the mulch and the grass can start growing right away. But again, I see no weeds in this shot, so there is probably plastic underneath. You'll need to rip that out if that's the case. Good luck!
